WE NEED YOUR HELP TO BUILD:
-
We’re opening our first civic imagination hub in San Francisco! We’ll host public gatherings, craft creative activations, and collaborate with artists to translate critical ideas into experiential storytelling.
We’re building a model designed to scale, and this is an essential next step towards getting it right.
Your support will help us build a generous and imaginative home, demonstrating what civic culture everywhere could feel like.
-
Our I Am a Scientist program is about transforming how students discover, explore, and engage with worldshaping STEM fields.
And with resources in 1600+ cities, there’s a good chance we’re already working in your community!
Demand is exceeding our capacity, but with your support, we can expand our operations, stock our independent print shop, and get teachers the resources they need to support the next generation of STEM leaders.
-
Our civic culture is shaped by systems, relationships, and stories. We’re building tools and resources to support museums, churches, libraries, cafes, and living rooms across the US in bringing civic imagination into their communities.
Space is powerful. Our headquarters will give our team and partners a place to gather, design, strategize, and distribute, with the goal of unlocking our initiatives for communities everywhere.

your support is vital.
Help us build the future of civic culture.
From sustainable cities to artificial intelligence, the weight of the issues we face demand new ways of learning, connecting, and taking action. The world is changing fast, and it’s easy to feel powerless. If we want a future that serves the wellbeing of our communities and our planet, we need spaces where we can seek knowledge, inspiration, and hope in each other's visions of what's possible. Our work isn't about addressing symptoms, it's about changing the parts of our culture that suppress public imagination, silo ideas, and deepen the divides between us.
We're living in a moment when our society needs fresh energy, renewed hope, and new ways of coming together.

What YOU can MAKE POSSIBLE
Space is powerful.
Every great shift in society began with people gathering together to explore what's possible. Today, as we face increasingly complex challenges, we urgently need intentional spaces designed not for clicks, sales, or votes–but for us to make sense of world-shaping ideas together.
Join us in creating a center for civic curiosity, creativity & community!
-
Expanding our in-demand classroom educational programs
Currently serving 1600+ communities nationwide, this space will allow us to reach even more students with transformative resources, helping to inspire the next generation of problem-solvers and innovators while addressing critical gaps.
-
Unlocking and amplifying community visions for the future
We'll host in-depth initiatives that centralize knowledge on critical issues, facilitate community conversations, unlock public imagination, and amplify collective visions to bring new horizons into focus.
-
A taste of what civic culture could be
At this pivotal moment for democracy and public discourse, The Plenary, Co. is establishing a new center dedicated to unlocking civically-critical ideas and possibilities. At the historic Pier 70 in Dogpatch, we're transforming a bright industrial space into a vibrant laboratory for civic imagination, where art meets evidence, storytelling meets science, and neighbors meet to envision better futures. This space represents a deep investment in both local life and systemic change—serving as a vital hub for Bay Area communities and a critical prototype for a network of community spaces that could transform the culture of how we engage with social, scientific, and environmental issues.
-
Sharing evidence-backed frameworks
This space will be a powerhouse for innovation, where we develop and share tools that support openness, ignite public imagination, and drive lasting cultural change.
